Proper aftercare is essential to ensure a body piercing heals properly and without complications. Here are some general guidelines for body piercing aftercare:

Twisting a new piercing is old school!

-
Keep the piercing area clean: Use the piercing aftercare spray that was given to you at your appointment.
-
Avoid using harsh chemicals or alcohol-based solutions, as they can dry out the skin and irritate the piercing.
-
Avoid touching the piercing: Don't touch the piercing with dirty hands or allow others to touch it. This can introduce bacteria and other pathogens, increasing the risk of infection.
-
Avoid submerging the piercing in water: Avoid swimming or submerging the piercing in water, including pools, hot tubs, lakes, and oceans until the piercing has fully healed.
-
Avoid irritants: Avoid wearing tight or restrictive clothing that rubs against the piercing, and avoid using perfumes, lotions, or other irritants on the area.
-
Don't remove the jewelry prematurely: Leave the initial jewelry in place until the piercing has fully healed, which can take several weeks to several months depending on the piercing location. Removing the jewelry prematurely can cause the piercing to close up or become infected.
-
Be mindful of signs of infection: Watch for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, discharge, or pain. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

STEP BY STEP AFTERCARE GUIDE FOR EARS AND NOSTRIL:

***Always make sure your hands are clean when touching your piercing for any reason!***
HEALING - soak your piercing as needed during healing. you can either spray your piercing 3 - 6 times per day with the aftercare spray given to you or saturate your piercing with a clean cotton ball or a folded up paper towel soaked in a saline solution once a day for 5-10 minutes. Dry the piercing by gently patting with clean, disposable paper products because cloth towels.
DO NOT REMOVE YOUR JEWELRY DURING THE HEALING PROCESS
CLEANING - A fragrance and dye free antibacterial soap such as soft soap or dial is recommended after entering any body of water or sweating. When showering, gently lather a pea size drop of soap around the piercing and let it sit for 10 seconds before rinsing off.
It is not necessary to turn your jewelry in your piercing and can elongate the healing process!
AFTERCARE GUIDE FOR NAVELS (BELLY BUTTON):
Naval piercings can be more tricky to heal and will require more aftercare attention. Unlike facial and ear piercings, the belly button requires fully soaking the piercing with our aftercare healing solution or saline solution.

To soak the naval piercing properly:

1. Grab a clean shot glass or small cup
2. Fill the glass with with the aftercare solution
3. Carefully place the rim of the glass around the naval jewelry to create a suction / seal
4. Allow the naval to soak for approximately 5-10 minutes
-CLEANING - A fragrance and dye free antibacterial soap such as soft soap or dial is recommended after entering any body of water or sweating. When showering, gently lather a pea size drop of soap around the piercing and let it sit for 10 seconds before rinsing off.

Post Piercing Complications:

It is possible for any piercing to become infected while it is healing which can take several weeks to several months. Most often, piercing infections tend to happen weeks to months after the piercing was done and is not due to improper piercing or improper sterilization / sanitation practices by the piercer.

Most infections are caused by improperly caring for the piercing at home, incorrect size or jewelry type is being worn, and / or medical reactions such as Keloid formations or rejection.

If a piercing is continuously becoming infected, please contact us ASAP. Your jewelry might need to be changed out or we might need to remove the jewelry to allow the skin to heal and the piercing to close.

If, in the rare occurrence, your piercing becomes infected within 1-2 weeks of the piercing please contact us.
If your jewelry falls out of your piercing within 1-2 weeks of the piercing please contact us.
